Memento Mori - "Remember your mortality", from the medieval Latin theory and practice of reflection on mortality, it has been an ubiquitous part of human culture for centuries. From philosophy to art, the fascination, fear and appreciation of death has consistently fascinated and cultivated our imagination. Many practitioners of this theory kept with you, artefacts or keepsakes that serve as a reminder that the only thing that is safe in life was death.
